“…Writing unleashes a force that is far greater than your actions could ever produce…”-By Sandy Forester from How to be Wildly Wealthy Fast.
Writing can create your entire life. How? During my self-discovery journey I unveiled a secret way that is less laborious than visualization and much more powerful. I found this powerful tool in a Jack Canfield book. In the book I discovered an exercise that is life transforming. In the exercise I was asked to write my life plan. It was divided into different life categories such as personal, spiritual, career, business, finance, fun. In each category I was to describe how I desire my life to be. Jack Canfield explained that the more specific you are in your description the more powerful the manifestation process will become. That is exactly what I did. I wrote my life plan the way I dreamed it to be and then I left it there and went on with my life. From time to time in the beginning stages I modified it a little by adding more details as I became aware of what I truly desired. Once I was satisfied with it I left it to rest and never touched it again. Sometimes I took a look at it to see what I have manifested and it is amazing how many desires, dreams do become a reality. For example I asked to be on a radio show and I was on 2 of them, one was an online one and the other was a real radio show. I was amazed at what I have manifested. I still continue to realize many of the things I have written. This is when I learned how powerful and magical the power of writing is.
This technique is so effortless, you write it once and you let is settle and allow life to unfold, it creates on its own. I learned that writing helps me clarify what I want, then helps me create it without thinking. Writing motivates me to reach those goals on an unconscious level. Just like Sandy Forester and other experts say there is a special connection between the pen and the mind. The Power of the Pen doesn’t stop there. Writing can do more for you than you know. It is magnificent.
Writing is a magical tool that has various functions that can be used in your life. Today I will share with you 3 different ways you can use writing to enrich your life. Writing can be used to gain clarity, find solutions, and take important decisions.
Writing is a really easy way to track your thoughts. Previously, in another speech I gave here, I spoke about the power of journaling and how it can help you. Allow me today to elaborate a little further upon this wonderful tool.
As you know I love the law of attraction and I discovered journaling through it. I previously mentioned how journaling can help you increase the awareness of your thoughts. Through my journaling I have unlocked another function that is very useful in life. I discovered that I can use journaling to invoke clarity. When my clients are not clear about a situation I ask them to write it down. I ask them what they want, what they really want? For instance, one client came to me in order to find different streams of income to work in but didn’t know what she 1) wanted to do and loved doing. 2) What she can do with the strengths, skills, talents and passions she has. I asked her to brainstorm some ideas of what she thinks she can do. This technique provided her with more clarity on what she can do and what options are available for her.
I ask my clients to make a list because many times they don’t necessarily know how to go about it. Once we do the exercise my clients become clearer of what they want. By seeing the different things they wrote down allows them to explore different options. When they see it on paper it becomes clearer than when simply thinking about them in their head.
As I continued to journal everyday, I decided one day to ask myself questions in order to find solutions to various problems I was going through. I described my problem in my journal. I asked how I can solve it. I sat in complete silence and waited for an answer. The answer comes 90% of the time. There could be rare instances when the answer does not come, what do you do? Personally, what I do is I simply brainstorm solutions. Afterwards, I narrow them down to the 3 most important ones. I proceed by putting a number between 1 to 10, 1 being the lowest score and 10 being the highest. The highest score is the solution I want to use. Whenever I feel stuck in a situation and I cannot see how the situation can get better I use this. It helps me see many options. Moreover, I use this solution in my coaching practice as well especially with clients who struggle with a certain situation and have trouble seeing a way out. I help them explore the various possibilities they have in front of them and how to access their intuition.
Writing is particularly effective when struggling to take decisions. When I need to take an important decision I explore it through writing. How? I first brainstorm my options. I continue by looking at the pros and cons of each decision and I write them down. I write the consequences of each decision as well as the benefits and how it will change a certain situation.
For example, one of my clients who is a life coach came to me because she wanted to change her niche. She has worked hard to learn everything about her current niche. I asked her to first brainstorm her options, then proceed to write the pros and cons of changing the niche. I asked her to proceed by writing the pros and cons of staying in her current niche. In the end write the consequences of each decision and look at the consequences and decide which ones she is able to live with as well as look at how the decision will affect her life for the better.
In summary, I want you to remember that writing has many functions, you can use writing to benefit your life in many ways. I hope that next time you have difficulty finding solutions, tracking your thoughts, getting clear and taking decisions, to remember that writing will facilitate the task and evoke the answers you need quickly.
