How do you keep the right mindset for motivation? Many of us want to stay motivated, but not all of us can figure out how to do it. It seems that just when we sit down to start taking action or doing a task, we feel like procrastinating by doing other tasks. We end up getting lazy, surfing the internet, Facebook and other Social Media Platforms, or simply falling asleep. It happens to all of us. And when we are in this state, we lose the motivation and drive to work. However, we know that sooner or later we pay a price for this procrastination. How can we avoid this happening? Here are my 7 Secret Ways To Get Motivated.

7 Secret Ways to Get Motivated:

1) Set Goals And Write Them Down On Paper: Yes, you probably have heard it a million times, but how many of you really write down your goals in a place where you can actually see them? Good places to write them down would be in your agenda or on your wall calendar. And how many of you write them down using a big red pen so you can see them in front of you? Try it! When we write things down concretely and look at them, it helps us to see where we are and where we are going.

2) Get Some Sleep: You feel really exhausted. Perhaps you didn’t sleep for a whole night, or you went to sleep late. Create a new routine for sleeping. If you suffer from insomnia, try spending a whole day or more catching up on your sleep. You will see how refreshed you will feel when you wake up, and how energized and motivated you become.

3) Create New Habits: Just like you create a habit to take medication and exercise, you can create new habits in your business or home life. How? By creating new routines and setting the times when you will do certain things. The best times are early in the morning or later in the evening. I am a person who tends to forget things very easily. That is why I create a routine for myself with my work and home life. This has helped me succeed in both areas.

4) Eliminate The “I Don’t Have Time” Excuse: The more you say these words, the more you really don’t have the time. Do you really desire it or Do you feel that you have to do it? If you shift these words to something more positive, you’ll see better results. Good examples are;  Doing this will benefit me in….(fill in the blank). This will help me reach X goal. Also, start thinking how exciting and rewarding it will be to reach your goal. See yourself there. If you really desire something deeply in your heart, then you have no excuses for not taking action. And, if you still find yourself not doing it, ask yourself if you are hungry enough for it. If not, then maybe it is not the right path for you.

5) Surround Yourself With Cheerleaders: What kind of people are you surrounding yourself with? Are they people who drain your energy or people who energize you? This is easier said than done sometimes. What do you do with negative people who happen to be your immediate family members? If this is your case, I know how you feel. I have a few family members who are not my cheerleaders. What I do is set the following boundaries with them:

They are not allowed to complain about money problems.

They are not allowed to criticize me.

And whenever they violate these boundaries, I stop them and tell them I don’t want to hear it. Yes, it may sound rude, but they are being rude to me by not respecting my boundaries. If they continue to talk after this, I leave the room. These measures may seem very drastic, but it will make people hear you and respect you. Remember, no one can take away your vibration and mindset but you! This is the cost if you really desire to make a huge difference in your way of thinking.

6) Get a Coach or a Mentor: If you have tried everything I have spoken about and it didn’t work, you may need someone to keep you accountable. If this is the case, get a coach or mentor to help you.

7) Have Some Spiritual Motivational Routines: I have some specific routines I use everyday to keep my motivation up. I journal, I listen to uplifting music, I exercise, and I take time to get quiet. I do all this every morning before I start to work. This routine keeps me motivated and disciplined for work.

So, remember these 7 key ways to get motivated. And when creating new habits by taking actions daily, even small ones, the motivation comes.
