I love when someone tells me the truth about something and is being honest. I am so strong now as a person and instead of taking a comment as criticism, I see it as someone trying to help me be a better me and grow as a person as long as it is communicated from a place of love.

I like when someone is honest and tells me the truth about something instead of giving me a positive comment that doesn’t help me. Today I finally got the truth and I feel so relieved and grateful because these people have helped me gain awareness. What I love most is that I got what we call effective feedback which means the kind that helps you improve something in your life and learn how to do things better than you did before.

Today I asked some feedback from someone and finally I got someone to tell me the truth. Thank you for being honest with me and being fearless about saying what you really think. I want to acknowledge these people today.

When you give feedback make sure it is constructive feedback and that it is expressed with a good intention. There is a difference between feedback and criticism. Feedback is when you tell someone the positive parts first about what they did and what you liked that showcases their strengths and then point out the points that need improvement. It is important to be honest and be truthful as long as what you say helps the other person grow.

Criticism is totally different. Criticism is finding only the flows in the person and it diminishes other people, hurts their feelings and affects their self-esteem. Too much criticism can become abusive to the person you are communicating with.

Acknowledging other people for helping us is very important because you give them credit for something they did and at the same time you are also being grateful for the experience. You make them feel good, but you mostly make yourself feel good. When I acknowledge someone I feel liberated, relieved, grateful and happy.

Do you have a similar experience and how did you feel?

Finally, say the truth be authentic but be careful how you communicate it to others. Being honest is a good thing as long as it is communicated in an elegant way that helps others grow and learn rather than diminishing others.
